“Best Preserved of the Hampi Monuments.”
This is one of the best preserved of the Hampi monuments. It is situated in a nice garden setting at the far end of the Zenana Enclosure.
It was meant for the royal elephants. There are 11 stables here, set in a symmetrical row around a larger central hall. They are all connected with small doors at the rear, probably meant for the mahouts. The ceilings are dome shaped in Islamic style.
