Quick Bite Saves Us An Expensive Meal On Ferry.
To catch a ferry to Vancouver Island we had to be at the Horseshoe Bay Terminal in West Vancouver and buy our boarding tickets. We took a cab from North Vancouver and found that we were quite early as there was an hour to go for the ferry 'Coastal Renaissance' at around 1 pm. That gave us some time to explore the area around Horseshoe Bay.
The busy port is quite scenic. There are a large number of restaurants nearby. Since we did not have time for a sit-down lunch we bought some Veggie Subs from the Subway outlet in an adjoining lane nearby, and were happy to munch it on the ferry. It saved us some money and we did not have to wait in a long line which forms as soon as the ferry starts.
The service at the Subway outlet was quick and courteous. We could choose our sauces and ingredients and customise the Sub to our liking. Better still, we paid for 3 lunches what would have got us only one on the ferry.
